It’s Never Too Early To Prepare For Christmas 2008

April 30th, 2008 . by Santa Claus

Some people argue that it’s never too early to start planning for Christmas, even though the decorations have only just been put away from the last festive splurge. If you’re one of them your preparations will be well under way already.

However, most people are so glad to see the back of Christmas that they really don’t want to countenance planning another orgy of food and drink over-indulgence so soon. Others are canny enough to have already snapped up almost everything they need for Christmas 2008. In amongst all the Boxing Day sales there would have been plenty of half-price or even better deals on Christmas cards and decorations; all eagerly snapped up and stored by those canny souls who always prepare well in advance. Christmas Traditions

February 7th, 2008 . by Santa Claus

Over the past several years, I have been often disgusted at the focus on gifts and gift giving. I have seen friends or family’s satisfaction be directly related to the quality or quantity of gifts. I’ve listened to people carry on about what they are getting others as if it was a badge of honor and the judgment they’ve given you when you aren’t doing the same.

It became nothing more than a grand production of purchasing for the sake of purchasing. Do we honestly need more things? Some justify it because they feel it’s the “thought” that counts when you give a gift. Do we truly think that having more stuff means people love and care about you more? Should our affection and friendship be contingent upon what people give you during the holidays? Have we become that shallow? Read the rest of this entry »

Mr Walloby’s Christmas Tree Lesson Plan

February 6th, 2008 . by Santa Claus

When I was a little girl, I remember reading “Mr Willowby’s Christmas Tree” by Robert Berry. In the end, a mouse who lived in Mr Wallowby’s house was thrilled to have a tree for Christmas just like Mr Wallowby! Read the rest of this entry »
